That ramp over the shark is SO attractive. We'll see what kind of RetCon gets deployed when the next guy takes over.

I am pretty certain that this was the set up to the extensive retcon that is planned for the finale. I think that RTD is going to erase all of the more egregious diversions from canon - elimination of the Time Lords, the Master being a capering nutjob, etc.
